For the last couple of years, I’ve been working on this website and blog, bringing subscribers and having many views. I started The Mad Writer Project under this site. This site has gone through major changes over the years.
Well…now comes another change. First, The Mad Writer Project, LLC has been changed to JB Burrage Media, LLC. I made the name change, which really is nothing more than a formality, to reflect the direction I want to go with my brand and business. This doesn’t mean The Mad Writer Project doesn’t exist. It won’t go anywhere; it will continue to be my creative outlet the way I started last year. It will just be under the umbrella of JB Burrage Media, LLC, no corporate entities or anything like that. Simply a brand that I will use to experiment with my work, as well as use to create collaborations with other writers who feel the same as I do.
But here’s the real change and this is major. Within the next month or so, I’ll be moving this site to a new platform, in order to create a full blogging business centered around The Diary of a Mad Writer blog, which will also include the services that I’m offering, The Mad Writer Project, and possibly another attempt at Patreon. After much thought and going back and forth over the last few months, I decided to turn my blog into something more substantial and serious. JB Burrage Media will be a full-fledged online publishing and services company.
You’ll still get my typical storytelling, rants, promotions, etc, but the blog will be more geared towards mental health concerns. There might even be guest bloggers from time to time, something that I have been dead set against. There will also be invitations for subjects that followers of the blog to send topics of what they would like for me to talk about. I will also bring back segments, such as my Sunday Night Thoughts, and introduce new ones. There will eventually be videos, as well.
The new site will probably appear drastically different from how it looks now. For example, I plan for it to be a skinner version of what it’s currently is, trying not to use as much content and pages/sub-pages so it won’t be too much of a distraction. I want the site to be a fresh and clean revision.
I said in my last post that I will always stay true to The Mad Writer Project, and that’s exactly what I’m doing. I’m still returning to my passion for writing, but I also need to think more like an entrepreneur; after all, this is my business. It’s the only way I can grow and ultimately help people.
This might be the last post that I make before the changeover. I’ve been absent from the blog for the last few months, but I had my reasons. For now, you can continue to check out my work at bphope.com and be sure to keep following and support me. I appreciate it all.
See you on the other side…
