Spring Hypomania: Trying to Understand Bursts of Energy, Insomnia and Racing Thoughts (bphope.com: May 22, 2018)

“I think I’m recovering from a hypomanic episode. It lasted for about a week. It was extremely annoying. I was easily irritated. Everything everybody said or did was getting on every last nerve that I had. I was a wreck.

But I kind of had fun. For the first time in months, I felt alive. I felt a great burst of energy. I became more productive; I did more work in building my work in a week than I did in a month. It was a lot better than the miserable feeling I was having over the last few months.

The meds weren’t working. I took them faithfully this time, after my last appointment with my doctor, but they just weren’t working. I would go to sleep at one or two in the morning, only to wake up three or four hours later and be up the whole day.”
